ABOUT

Kansas City is my home. I was born and raised here. From the time I was a little kid I was around a sound console every week because my dad ran sound at church on Sundays. When I was 12 years old he started letting me move the faders and I began to learn how to mix the band. From there I fell in love with music and being behind a console.

When I was 15 years old I took a career assessment survey to begin thinking about what I wanted to do with my life. Recording engineer was the top result it shot back at me. In that moment, it clicked.

From there I got my first job running sound at Homer’s Coffee House for their weekend band nights. After high school I went to Johnson County Community College where I completed their Recording Arts Program and received a Recording Arts Certificate. With that certificate I was able to get a paid summer internship with Church of the Resurrection in the technical arts department. I was then asked to stay on part time as the A2 (audio assistant/deck hand/wireless microphone management) for weekend worship services. I also worked on campus at Saint Paul School of Theology doing classroom tech support.

By the fall of 2014 I started taking over more audio needs in the main sanctuary at Church of the Resurrection, a 3,000-seat auditorium, and running front of house, FOH (managing the sound console), for services and events. I became one of two full time audio engineers.

In December of 2015 I decided to start my own professional audio services company called Serve Productions LLC. This was my outlet to accomplish my goals as an engineer and best serve the people around me. I want to produce and engineer great records, put on flawless speaking events, mix great concerts, DJ memorable weddings, create great audio for video and voice over projects, explore the limits of production and event creation, and do it all for the wonderful people who trust me enough to do those things with them and for them.

So I set out on my own with that goal in mind – to serve the great people I get to meet and come into contact with every day in this industry. I’m excited and honored to be a part of such wonderful productions and projects, especially ones that you are excited about as well.
